PROVO, Utah — On Monday, Oct. 12 at 7 p.m. (MT), the Mountain West Sports Network (The Mtn.) will launch a new program entitled “Teams to Remember.” Fittingly the inaugural one-hour show kicks off with a 25th anniversary special highlighting BYU’s 1984 national football championship.

Unranked entering the season, the 1984 team defeated No. 3 Pittsburgh in the first game of the year. Despite the loss of quarterback Steve Young and several other key players from the previous season, the 1984 squad rode the momentum from start to finish, culminating in a win over Michigan in the Holiday Bowl to capture the 1984 National Championship.

Hosted by Blaine Fowler, backup quarterback for the 1984 team and current football and basketball analyst for The Mtn., Teams to Remember: 1984 BYU Football incorporates key plays and highlights from the season and interviews with many of the names and faces that Cougar fans will remember, including Lavelle Edwards, Robbie Bosco, Marv Allen, Shawn Knight, Glen Kozlowski and Vai Sikahema.

The Mtn. premiered on Sept. 1, 2006 as the first network dedicated to a college athletic conference. In addition to more than 200 live events, coverage includes news programming, coaches’ shows, pre and post game analysis and feature programming about MWC athletics.
