O'Brien Quarterback Award Candidates In Marquee Match-up Saturday
FORT WORTH -- Saturday two of the nation's best quarterbacks will meet head-to-head as BYU senior Max Hall leads the No. 20 Cougars in a game against the reigning Heisman Trophy winner Sam Bradford and the third-ranked Oklahoma Sooners.
Hall, a 2008 O'Brien Semifinalist, begins his senior campaign in the first college football game held at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas. A two-time All-Mountain West Conference honoree, he passed for league-highs of 3,957 yards and 35 touchdowns last fall, leading the conference in both categories for the second straight season. His passing and total yardage (4,072) numbers ranked among the top 10 nationally while setting MWC records for a junior signal-caller
The O'Brien honors the nation's best college quarterback of the year and inspires student-athletes to triumph both on and off the field. By recognizing and honoring athletes who excel in both sports and academics while exhibiting strong character and leadership, The O'Brien aims to help instill a lifelong moral fiber in each candidate.
Saturday's game is scheduled to kickoff at 6 p.m. CT and will be televised live on ESPN.
