Injury Sidelines Speredon for the Season
PROVO -- BYU junior offensive lineman Jason Speredon has suffered a rotator cuff tear in his left shoulder that will require surgery. With an expected recovery time of three to five months, he will miss the 2009 season.
The 6-foot-5 West Valley City, Utah, native underwent an MRI Friday that revealed the tear, which occurred during practice on Thursday.
Speredon has seen action in 21 games over the past two seasons as a reserve. He has been working as a first-unit left guard during spring practices and fall camp in preparation for the 2009 season.
