PROVO -- The start time and network for the BYU football season opener against Oklahoma has been officially announced. The Sept. 5 game vs. the Sooners will kick off at 6 p.m. CT (5 p.m. MT) nationally on ESPN.

The Cougars and Sooners will face each other at the new, state-of-the-art Dallas Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas, as part of the second annual ESPN Kickoff Week. The featured contest with BYU and Oklahoma pits two of only seven teams nationally to win 10 or more games each of the last three seasons.

With the announcement, the start times and television broadcasts for BYU’s 2009 season are now complete. The Cougars will appear on VERSUS, CBS College Sports Network and the ESPN networks twice apiece with seven contests being broadcast on The Mtn., including a simulcast with CBS C of the BYU-Utah game on Nov. 28.
