PROVO -- BYU head coach Bronco Mendenhall today announced senior linebacker Matt Ah You will transfer from BYU.

"Matt has made a decision to transfer to finish his final season of eligibility, and I have granted him a release,” Mendenhall said. “I appreciate his contributions to our program and wish him the best as he pursues his personal goals."

A graduate of Lone Peak High School in Highland, Utah, Ah You earned letterman honors all three seasons with the Cougars, seeing action in 26 games during the 2003, 2004 and 2008 seasons. Last year he played in all 13 contests, including two starts. The 5-foot-11, 220-pound linebacker totaled 68 tackles, one tackle for loss and one fumble recovery in three seasons with the Cougars.
