BYU Forgoes This Year's Spring Game
PROVO -- BYU Athletics Director Tom Holmoe today announced that the traditional spring football game will not be conducted this year because the field at LaVell Edwards Stadium will not be available for use.
“I’ve consulted with Coach Mendenhall as we considered the issues related to playing the spring game this year,” Holmoe said. “It’s really not workable to have a public spring game and accommodate the many fans who always attend. We recognize that this is a temporary situation and look forward to continuing with our spring game tradition next season.”
The spring game was scheduled for April 11. The team will conclude spring practices that week. Practices are not open to the public.
