Feterik Named MWC Offensive Player of the Week
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- BYU quarterback Kevin Feterik was named the Mountain West Conference Offensive Player of the Week after leading the Cougars to a 35-28 win over Washington on Thursday, Sept. 9.
Feterik completed 39-of-59 pass attempts en route to a career-high 501-yard performance in the Cougars' season-opening victory at Cougar Stadium. The 6-0, left-hander set a Cougar Stadium record with 59 attempts, breaking a 23-year-old record. He also led BYU to 37 first downs, also a Cougar Stadium record.
Feterik was also named the USA TODAY.com Player of the Week for his performance against the Huskies. Feterik and the Cougars will take on Mountain West-foe Colorado State on Thursday, Sept. 16 at 6 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN.
