Offensive lineman Jake Eichorn signs with BYU football
PROVO, Utah – BYU has added Weber State offensive line transfer Jake Eichorn to the Cougar football program.
The 6-foot-5, 285-pound lineman from Beaver, Utah, comes to BYU as a redshirt sophomore with three years of eligibility remaining.
After redshirting in 2021 at Weber State, Eichorn played in 12 games this past season, making multiple starts, while helping the Wildcats to a 10-3 season and a berth in the 2022 NCAA Football Championship Subdivision Playoffs.
Eichorn was the Utah 2A State MVP as a senior at Beaver High School while helping the Beavers win back-to-back state championships in 2019 and 2020. As one of the top linemen in the state, he anchored an offensive line that helped BHS gain more than 4,500 yards on the ground.
A two-sport athlete who earned All-State honors in basketball, Eichorn signed to play football at Weber State under former head coach Jay Hill, who is now in his first season at defensive coordinator and associate head coach at BYU.
Eichorn joins a group of 15 transfers new to the BYU program for the 2023 season. Most recently, the Cougars added transfer receiver Darius Lassiter from Eastern Michigan, offensive lineman Caleb Etienne from Oklahoma State and linebacker AJ Vongphachanh from Utah State to join other previously announced additions.
