College Football Network names 12 Cougars to All-Independent Teams

2022 College Football Network All-Independent teams

 

Twelve members of the BYU football team were named to the 2022 College Football Network All-Independent Teams for offense, defense and special teams. 

Led by CFN Offensive Player of the Year and Quarterback of the Year Jaren Hall, six BYU offensive standouts were named to the first team. Joining Hall were receivers Puka Nacua and Keanu Hill, left tackle Blake Freeland, center Connor Pay and right tackle Kingsley Suamataia. 

Freeland, who was named Offensive Lineman of the Year, anchored a position group that was named Offensive Line of the Year, while Nacua was named Wide Receiver of the Year. 

Three additional Cougars, running back Chris Brooks, tight end Isaac Rex and wide receiver Cody Epps were named CFN All-Independent Second Team Offense. 

On defense, BYU linebacker Max Tooley was named to the CFN All-Independent Second Team, while two Cougars were named CFN All-Independent Specialist. Ryan Rehkow was named the All-Independent Punter of the Year and First-Team Punter, while Hobbs Nyberg was named the CFN Second-Team All-Independent Punt Returner.
