Hill named Earl Campbell Tyler Rose National Player of the Week honorable mention

TYLER, Texas — BYU wide receiver Keanu Hill was named Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award National Player of the Week honorable mention today for a second time during the 2022 college football season.

Hill, who was previously honored in week four of the year, had a career high six catches and three touchdowns in the Cougars 56-26 win over Utah Tech on Saturday. The sophomore led all BYU receivers with 137 yards, for his second 100-yard game of the year. 

Through 11 games, Hill leads the Cougars in touchdowns (7) and is second in yards receiving (459) and yards per catch (16.3). He is third in total receptions (35) and yards per game (51.8) and has the longest reception on the season at 68 yards.  

Prior to the 2022 season, Hill was named to the 10th annual Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award Watch List by the Tyler Chamber of Commerce. The award recognizes the top offensive player in college football who was born in Texas, graduated from a Texas high school, or played at a Texas-based four-year college. 

A native of Bedford, Texas, Keanu Hill played in all 13 games as a freshman at BYU in 2021 and has played in all 11 games as a sophomore in 2022. The Trinity High School (Euless, Texas) graduate had 18 catches for 343 yards and two touchdowns last season.
