BALTIMORE, Maryland — BYU quarterback Jaren Hall has been named to the Top 25 Watch List for the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award, presented by the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Educational Foundation, Inc.

Hall was also named the KIA Player of the Month for September by the College Football Hall of Fame, beating out Mohamed Ibrahim of Minnesota, Jacoby Windmon of Michigan State and Ali Jennings III of Old Dominion.

Through five weeks of the 2022 season, Hall has led BYU to 4-1 record and a No. 16 ranking in both the Associated Press and USA TODAY AFCA Coaches Poll. He has completed 120 of 171 passes for 1,438 yards (288 per game) and 12 touchdowns with only one interception. Hall has completed 70 percent of his passes to 14 different receivers.

The Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award annually recognizes the top senior or upperclassman quarterback set to graduate with their class. Candidates are chosen based on player performance on-and-off the field headed into and during the 2022 college football season. Hall has been named to the award's narrowed down Top 25 list.

The 2022 award winner will be presented the Golden Arm Award trophy by The Johnny Unitas Educational Foundation President, John Unitas, Jr., at the Golden Arm Award banquet and celebration at the Four Seasons Hotel in Baltimore, Maryland on Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2022.

The Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award Watch List, semifinalists, finalists, and award recipient are selected by the distinguished Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Selection Committee, a group of prominent college football journalists, commentators, announcers, and former players.

The Award’s namesake, Johnny Unitas, was an 18-year veteran of the NFL, who played his collegiate career at Louisville before joining the Baltimore Colts in 1958. His career passing figures include 2,830 pass completions for 40,239 yards and 290 touchdowns.

In addition to the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award, Hall is also a watch list candidate for the Maxwell Award, Davey O’Brien Award, Manning Award, Walter Camp Player of the Year Award and the CFPA National Performer of the Year Award. In addition, he was named to the Pro Football Network Top 100 College Football Players list and is on the watch list for Senior Bowl.
