PROVO, Utah – BYU head football coach Kalani Sitake announced the signing of graduate transfer defensive back Gabe Jeudy-Lally from Vanderbilt.

Jeudy-Lally, a 6-foot-2, 185-pounder from Austin, Texas, played in 23 games for Vanderbilt of the Southeastern Conference, totaling 63 tackles, 35 solo stops, four pass breakups and two interceptions in his career.

“Gabe has a lot of experience after playing in the SEC for the last few years,” Sitake said. “He is a very smart player and a really strong student. He is going to be a great fit in our secondary and with our program.”

After redshirting in 2019 with four games played, a COVID-19 year in 2020 and a 2021 season, Jeudy-Lally is expected to arrive at BYU for the 2022 season with three years of eligibility remaining.

In 2021, Jeudy-Lally played in 12 games, starting 10 at cornerback for Vandy. He posted 50 tackles, two pass breakups, one interception and one tackle for loss.

Not just a leader on the field for Vanderbilt, Jeudy-Lally also excelled in the classroom as a three-time All-SEC Academic First Team selection. The SEC standout was also named an Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar for the Commodores.

Jeudy-Lally prepped at Ardrey Kell High School in North Carolina as a National Honor Society member and two-time all-conference player. He will graduate from Vanderbilt with a degree in human and organizational development.
