The following notes are from BYU's 38-24 loss to Baylor in Waco, Texas.

TEAM NOTES
The Series
BYU dropped to 1-2 in the overall series and 0-2 in Waco. Baylor returns the game to Provo in 2022 before both are expected to meet regularly as members of the Big 12 in 2023.

Ranked Team
BYU dropped to 14-4 as a ranked team under head coach Kalani Sitake.

Turnovers
BYU linebacker Payton Wilgar intercepted Baylor quarterback Gerry Bohanon in the first quarter, the first interception Baylor has thrown all season. BYU has seven picks this season.

Pass Breakups
BYU finished the first half with five pass breakups. Caden Haws, Malik Moore, Max Tooley, Hayden Livingston and D’Angelo Mandell all broke up passes. BYU has 26 pass breakups on the year. The Cougars were No. 39 nationally entering the game.

Jaren Hall

Hall was 22 of 31 for 342 yards in the game, setting a career mark for passing yards and his second consecutive 300-yard game. He also added a career-long 56-yard touchdown run in the second half.

Puka Nacua
Nacua finished the game with five receptions for 168 yards and one touchdown, his first as a Cougar and all going for career highs. He had two receptions for 97 yards in the first half, including a 52-yarder. He has had four consecutive games with a reception of 35 yards or more. He added a 47-yard reception in the second half and a 16-yard touchdown.
