Nagurski Trophy names Khyiris Tonga to 2020 watch list
DALLAS – BYU senior defensive lineman Khyiris Tonga was named to the 2020 Bronko Nagurski Trophy Watch List, awarded to the nation's most outstanding defensive player on Tuesday.
Tonga, also a 2019 honoree, heads into his senior season after playing 39 career games with 21 starts. In 2019 he had 45 total tackles and 4.0 tackles for loss. Tonga is also on the 2020 Outland Trophy Watch List.
The winner of the 2020 Bronko Nagurski Trophy presented by LendingTree as the National Defensive Player of the Year will be chosen from those five finalists.
