BYU, Fresno State announce two-game series

PROVO, Utah — BYU and Fresno State today announced a two-game football series for the 2025 and 2027 seasons.

The Cougars and Bulldogs will meet at Bulldog Stadium in Fresno, California, on Nov. 8, 2025, with the second game slated for LaVell Edwards Stadium in Provo on Oct. 9, 2027.

BYU and Fresno State have previously played 11 times in football, including five meetings as members of the WAC from 1992-98. The two schools recently played a two-games series, with the Cougars winning the first meeting 52-10 in Provo on Nov 21, 2015 before the Bulldogs took the second game 20-13 in Fresno on Nov. 4, 2017. The Bulldogs lead the overall series 6-5.

Fresno State was founded in 1911 and began playing football in 1921. The Bulldogs are members of the Mountain West Conference and have played in 24 bowl games.

BYU was founded in 1875 and began playing varsity football in 1922. The Cougars won a national championship in 1984 and are tied for No. 9 nationally in wins over the past 50 seasons with 417.

Kickoff times and broadcast plans for the two games will be announced at a later date.
