PROVO, Utah – BYU and ESPN today announced the Cougars’ 2020 home football game against Houston is moving to Friday, Oct. 16 as a featured national television matchup on ESPN or ESPN2.

The game, originally slated for Saturday, Oct. 17, will be the second visit by the Houston Cougars to LaVell Edwards Stadium. BYU picked up a 33-25 victory in the first meeting in Provo in 2014.

BYU leads the overall series 2-0. The inaugural matchup in 2013 between the two schools was a memorable shootout victory for BYU at Reliant Stadium (now NRG Stadium) in Houston. BYU quarterback Taysom Hill threw for 417 yards and ran for 128 more to help BYU come out on top in a 47-46 thriller.

Kick time and specific network for the 2020 game will be announced later.
