2020 Chi-Town Showdown

2020 Chi-Town Showdown set for Saturday, October 24

PROVO, Utah – BYU’s football game against Northern Illinois on Oct. 24 is moving to Chicago as a featured matchup called the 2020 Huskie Chi-Town Showdown.

The Cougars will face the Huskies at SeatGeek Stadium in Bridgeview, Illinois, located 12 miles southwest of downtown Chicago. SeatGeek Stadium is the current home of the Chicago Red Stars of the National Women’s Soccer League and former home of the Chicago Fire of Major League Soccer. The game will be the first for the Cougars in a venue built for professional soccer.

The 2020 Huskie Chi-Town Showdown will be the first college football game hosted in SeatGeek Stadium while also marking the fifth time overall that Northern Illinois has played a home game in the Chicago area dating back to 2007. NIU is located 65 miles west of Chicago in DeKalb, Illinois.

The Cougars and Huskies have met just once previously, with NIU defeating BYU 7-6 at LaVell Edwards Stadium in 2018. The 2020 contest will be BYU’s first-ever football game played in the state of Illinois.

Television plans and kick time will be announced later.
