HONOLULU — BYU visited the Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbor and the SoFi Hawai’i Bowl Kickoff Banquet on Sunday marked the fast-approaching bowl matchup between the Cougars and the hometown University of Hawai’i.

The Cougars began the day participating in a Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints sacrament service conducted at the team’s hotel for the entire travel group in Hawai’i with the team. Later, the team was able to visit the Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbor as one of the events arranged by the bowl committee. The memorial visit proved to be a memorable opportunity to not only hear the meaningful messages of Pearl Harbor but also truly feel their significance in way that only a personal visit can provide.

Following the experience at Pearl Harbor, BYU and Hawai’i both attended the Kickoff Banquet that was conducted at BYU’s team hotel.  BYU head coach Kalani Sitake and Hawai’i head coach Nick Rolovich each answered questions about his team and both offered sincere appreciation for their team as well as healthy respect for their opponent.

The official SoFi Hawai’i Bowl Press Conference will take place Monday before both teams conduct their final practices in advance of the game. The Cougars and Rainbow Warriors will kick off on Tuesday at 3 p.m. HST/6 p.m. MST on ESPN.
