Cougar Canyon will remain open until 30 minutes before kickoff, which will give fans enough time to enter the stadium for the game and enjoy the new improvements at LaVell Edwards Stadium.

STADIUM IMPROVEMENTS
Fans attending games in LaVell Edwards Stadium will also be able to enjoy some major enhancements to their game-day experience this season. Construction on the previously announced improvements began at the conclusion of the 2018 football season.

The project added structural sections at all four corners of the stadium that connect the existing four independent stadium stands at the mezzanine level. These improvements will allow patrons to walk between stands without having to return to ground level.

The project also significantly increases the number of restrooms in the stadium by adding women’s, men’s and family-friendly facilities on the north and south mezzanine levels. The changes are intended to improve accessibility, safety and the overall patron experience at BYU football games and other stadium events.

Among the enhancements added to the LaVell Edwards Stadium for the 2019 season are the following:
  • Approximately 75,000 square feet of new concourse and ramps
  • Grand staircase at south west corner
  • New ramps/exits on east side
  • 216 new bathroom fixtures on the north and south ends, including 144 women fixtures, 68 men fixtures and 4 family restrooms
On the sideline, the team will also enjoy the addition of new heated and cooling benches manufactured by Dragon Seats. BYU is one of 25 FBS college programs and 19 NFL franchises to install Dragon Seats. Each Dragon Seat is equipped with the heated bench with hand slots, a heated foot deck and Hot Hat helmet heaters.

Other recent improvements to LaVell Edwards Stadium include a state-of-the-art NFL quality DAS and Wi-Fi system, an interactive BYU Gameday in-stadium football app and a social media board that is eight feet high by 282 feet wide.

The stadium opens two hours before kickoff, giving fans the chance to tour the stadium before the game.

After opening against Utah on Aug. 29, BYU also hosts games against USC, Washington, Boise State, Liberty and Idaho State in 2019. Tickets are available at BYUtickets.com.
