Annual Cougar Kickoff and Cougar Sale take place Wednesday

The annual Cougar Kickoff and Cougar Sale take place on Wednesday, Aug. 14, giving fans the opportunity to meet and interact with many of the athletes competing on BYU sports teams and purchase the gear they wear.  

The two events are among several fun opportunities Cougar fans can take advantage of this month. 

Cougar Kickoff (Aug. 14)

The 15th annual Cougar Kickoff is scheduled from 6-8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 14 at Haws Field (west of the Indoor Practice Facility). Cougar Club members can attend starting at 5:30 p.m. by presenting their membership card. Athletes from the football, men's basketball, women’s volleyball, soccer, gymnastics, swimming and diving, cross country and the cheer squad will be on hand to meet with fans, sign autographs and run a variety of games and drills with kids.

The festivities include a live DJ, free posters, inflatable obstacle courses and the chance to take photos with Cosmo. The BYU Store will be on site selling Cougar merchandise. Admission is free.

Cougar Sale (Aug. 14)

In conjunction with Cougar Kickoff, the annual Cougar Sale takes place on Wednesday, Aug. 14 in the adjacent Indoor Practice Facility and is open to the public from 5 p.m. until 6 p.m. Cougar Club members can gain early admission at 4:30 p.m. by presenting their membership card.

The Cougar Sale allows fans to pick up gameday shirts and purchase athletic department clothing and gear at discounted prices. Admission is free.

Big Blue Bash (Aug. 25)

The Big Blue Bash is a fun and exciting family-friendly football event taking place on Friday, Aug. 23 at Rio Tinto Stadium in Sandy (9256 State St, Sandy, UT). The event begins at 6 p.m. with activities, inflatables, food trucks with concessions and the BYU Store selling merchandise. The program starts at 7 p.m. and will feature BYU head coach Kalani Sitake, Cougar players and famous BYU personalities. 

All Cougar Fans are invited. Tickets are $5 in advance and $10 at the door. Fans can also check out the BBB Auction--you don’t have to attend to bid & win--with more than 50 items including VIP seating, autographed merchandise and amazing experiences.

Movie Night at Miller Park—“How to Train Your Dragon 3: The Hidden World” (Aug. 9)

The successful Movie Night at Miller Park took place on Friday, Aug. 9, featuring the movie “How to Train Your Dragon 3: The Hidden World.” This year's event was at Miller Field, home of the BYU baseball team, as the final phases of the new improvements to LaVell Edwards Stadium are completed.
