Zach Wilson named to 2019 CFPA National Performer of the Year Watch List

CHARLESTON, S.C. – BYU quarterback Zach Wilson was one of 34 players named to the College Football Performance Awards (CFPA) 2019 preseason watch list for the CFPA National Performer of the Year Trophy on Wednesday.
Wilson, from Draper, Utah, finished the 2018 season starting seven games as a true freshman, the youngest true freshman starter ever at BYU. During his freshman campaign, he set the BYU record for freshman pass efficiency (157.23), completing 120 of 182 passes for 1,578 yards and 12 touchdowns.
He concluded the 2018 season throwing a perfect 18 for 18 for 317 yards and four touchdowns to lead BYU to a 49-18 win over Western Michigan in the 2018 Famous Idaho Potato Bowl.
All FBS players are eligible for the award. The award winner will be announced January 15, 2020.
