PROVO, Utah — BYU has launched a new game-day mobile app, built specifically for home football games at LaVell Edwards Stadium. The new football in-stadium app is now available for download on both Apple and Android phones.

The app will provide Cougar fans in Edwards Stadium a second-screen experience during home football games that includes on-demand video highlights, real-time statistics, social media components, the radio broadcast, fan interactive games, food, merchandise and much more.

The app is now available through the Apple App Store and Google Play.

Social Media Board
Also new to Edwards Stadium in 2018 is a state-of-the-art social media video board. Located above the east stands, the ribbon board is 8 feet high by 282 feet wide and is a larger version of the social media boards in the Marriott Center and at South Field. The new board will allow fans to interact with each other through the new game-day app. It is the first social media videoboard of its kind in college football.

Wi-Fi and DAS
Making these improvements possible for the 2018 season is a new state-of-the-art Wi-Fi and distributed antenna system (DAS) in Edwards Stadium. BYU partnered with Verizon Wireless and Extreme Networks to install a cutting-edge system that will provide BYU fans the ultimate large-venue mobile connectivity experience. BYU is the first college football program in the country to implement a full-stadium, high-density Wi-Fi offload solution used in many NFL stadiums.
