Four players in postseason all-star games
PROVO – Four BYU football players will have a chance to showcase their talents for professional careers in postseason all-star games beginning this weekend. Linebacker Fred Warner, wide receiver Jonah Trinnaman, offensive lineman Tuni Kanuch and defensive back Micah Hannemann will all participate in various games over the next few weeks.
Kanuch and Hannemann will both play in the first all-star game, the Spiral Tropical Bowl FBS All-American game on Sunday, Jan. 14. The Tropical Bowl will be played in Daytona Beach, Florida at Daytona Beach Municipal Stadium at 9 a.m EST. Both BYU players will be on the National team roster. Fans can stream the game live HERE.
Since 2016, over 110 Players from this game have gone on to the NFL including more to the CFL and Pro Arena leagues. The Tropical Bowl is considered a top bowl game by scouts and is attended by almost every NFL team. Read more about the Tropical Bowl.
Trinnaman will play in the seventh annual NFLPA Collegiate Bowl on Saturday, Jan. 20, culminating a week-long experience during which the participants will learn about the business of football. The game, scheduled for 1 p.m. PST/4 p.m. EST kickoff, and will be televised on FS1.
The 112-man roster has been split into two groups: the National team, led by Super Bowl-winning coach Mike Martz, and the American team, coached by Pro Football Hall of Famer Darrell Green. Warner will participate in the Reese's Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama on Jan. 27. The game is being played at Ladd-Peebles Stadium at 1:30 p.m. CST and will be televised live on the NFL Network.
The Senior Bowl is the nation's most unique football game and football's premier senior showcase event. It annually features the country's best senior collegiate football players and top NFL draft prospects on teams representing the North and South that are coached by the entire coaching staffs of two National Football League teams.
Practices on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday will be televised live by NFL Network and the Wednesday and Thursday practices will also be covered live by ESPN on ESPNU. The NFL Network will produce hour-long recap shows each evening as well.
