Fans will get their first look at the 2017 team when the Cougars open their second season under head coach Kalani Sitake in LaVell Edwards Stadium against Portland State on Saturday, Aug. 26. After facing LSU in Houston, BYU then returns to Provo to host back-to-back games in LaVell Edwards Stadium against in-state rival Utah and the Wisconsin Badgers of the Big Ten.

The Cougars and Utes will meet in Provo on Saturday, Sept. 9 in the 92nd football matchup between the long-time rivals. Wisconsin, coming off a No. 9 national finish in 2016, will be making its first-ever trip to LaVell Edwards Stadium to face BYU on Saturday, Sept. 16.

The Cougars play again at home on Oct. 6 when BYU and Boise State meet in a featured Friday night matchup at 8:15 p.m. in LaVell Edwards Stadium. Last year the then No. 14 Broncos came back to edge the Cougars 28-27 on the blue turf in Albertsons Stadium on their way to a 10-3 overall record.

BYU will host San Jose State on Saturday, Oct. 28 before concluding the home schedule on Senior Day against fellow independent UMass on Saturday, Nov. 18.
