FOOTBALL BOWL SUBDIVISION INDEPENDENT PLAYERS OF THE WEEK NAMED

Navy quarterback Keenan Reynolds, BYU linebacker Bronson Kaufusi and Navy kicker Austin Grebe have been named FBS Independent Players of the Week, for the week ending on Saturday, Nov. 14. Reynolds is recognized on Offense, Kaufusi is honored on Defense, and Grebe is cited on Special Teams. It is the sixth career recognition for Reynolds, while Kaufusi and Grebe are both honored the second time.

The FBS Independent Players of the Week are selected by members of a nationwide media panel, which includes equal representation from each of the independent institutions’ coverage markets.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Navy QB Keenan Reynolds

A junior from Antioch, Tenn., Reynolds carried the ball 30 times for a career-high 277 yards and six touchdowns, while completing five of his eight pass attempts for 71  yards and a touchdown in Navy's 52-19 home-field victory over Georgia Southern. Reynolds had touchdown runs of 1, 22, 1, 27, 15 and 39 yards. He now has 58 career touchdowns, which ranks ninth all-time in NCAA history by any player and third all-time by a QB (just one touchdown shy of the record). Reynolds has 11 career games of three touchdowns or more, which ties the NCAA record set by Wisconsin’s Montee Ball.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

BYU LB Bronson Kaufusi

A junior from Provo, Utah, Kaufusi recorded career highs with nine total tackles and eight solo stops, while tying career highs with three tackles for loss and two sacks in BYU’s 42-23 home win over UNLV. It was the third consecutive game in which Kaufusi registered at least one sack, bringing his season sack total to six.

SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Navy K Austin Grebe

A junior from Stafford, Va., Grebe had a perfect placement day in Navy’s 52-19 home win over Georgia Southern. Grebe kicked a 36-yard field goal on his only FG attempt, and converted all seven point-after tries; he also kicked off eight times, and made tackles on two of the kickoffs.
