Football holds second open practice of fall camp
PROVO, Utah—BYU football hosted its second open practice Wednesday morning, running drills and scrimmaging in front of 991 fans.
During the scrimmage portion of practice, quarterback Taysom Hill connected with receiver Mitch Mathews for multiple 20-yard receptions. Transfer wide receiver Nick Kurtz caught a pass from Hill and ran it in for a 20-yard touchdown.
The second team showed up strong, with quarterback Christian Stewart throwing to newcomer Devon Blackmon for 40-yard and 55-yard touchdowns. Stewart also handed off to Jamaal Williams for a 20-yard touchdown.
The Cougars continue practice Thursday morning prior to the team’s afternoon Photo Day.
