PROVO, Utah – For the second day of fall practice BYU football entertained the public for two hours on Saturday morning.

There were a few more big plays than on Friday as three different players caught touchdown passes, while three different defenders picked off four passes.

Early on Christian Stewart hit Nick Kurtz down the sideline for 30 yards and a touchdown before finding Mitch Mathews on a 50-yard post pattern into the end zone. Mathews was Stewart's favorite target of the day catching three balls. Kurtz and Carter also each caught three passes, while Devon Blackmon, Adam Hine and Jordan Leslie also pulled down two receptions against the defense. To close out practice, Taysom Hill connected with Leslie for back-to-back receptions of 25 and 30 yards to score a touchdown.

During passing drills midway through practice, Va'a Niumatalolo and Fred Warner picked off passes. During the 11-on-11 finale, Warner grabbed another interception stepping in front of a receiver, while Austin Heder plucked a live ball off the back of a receiver on the ground for his interception.

Peter Welsh and Nate Carter received the most carries on the day for the Cougars. Welsh carried the ball four times to Carter's three.

Practices will continue on Monday for the Cougars.
