New Brigham Young University Football Video and Technology Coordinator, Errol Seaver, has been selected by the Collegiate Sports Video Association as the 2013-2014 Sun Belt Video Coordinator of the Year.

Seaver played a vital role in expanding the University of South Alabama’s football brand through the media, and will now be considered a finalist for the prestigious Bob Matey National Video Coordinator of the Year award, which will be announced later this month.

“It’s an honor to receive this award,” Seaver said. “It’s humbling to be recognized by those people in our field who know exactly what we do.”

At South Alabama, Seaver oversaw over $350,000 in upgrades to video equipment and software for the football program that just made the jump to the FBS level last season. Seaver offered great appreciation and thanks for the administration and coaching staff of South Alabama for trusting in him to create a new video room for the football program.

Before South Alabama, Seaver served as the Assistant Director of Video for the Big 12 Conference, which included many responsibilities in aiding the forward direction of the popular conference. Seaver has also served as the Football Coordinator at Jacksonville State where he oversaw the day-to-day operations of the video department.

Seaver, a native of Hickory, N.C., earned his bachelor’s degree in communication, electronic media/broadcasting in 2008 from Appalachian State University, and his master’s degree in public administration/athletic administration from Jacksonville State University in 2010. Seaver plans to fill a similar role at BYU like he did with South Alabama in helping expand the Cougars’ vast football brand.

"I'm very excited to be here at BYU. The atmosphere is incredible and I have great respect for what BYU stands for," Seaver said. "I would like to thank my wife, Lindsey, and my family for their support and also Coach Mendenhall for the opportunity to join the BYU football family."
