PROVO, Utah — On Saturday, Sept. 7, Dowdle Folk Art and Zions Bank are teaming up to donate Eric Dowdle’s original painting of BYU’s LaVell Edwards Stadium to Brigham Young University. This generous donation is being presented to BYU in honor of Legendary head coach LaVell Edwards, who will be in attendance at the presentation in the Cougar Room prior to the Texas vs. BYU football game.

Joining Eric Dowdle for this presentation will be executives from Zions Bank, including Executive Vice President Rob Brough and Chief Financial Officer Kay Hall. Representing BYU will be LaVell Edwards and former All-American tight end Chad Lewis, who currently directs BYU Athletic Development. University of Texas President William Powers, Jr. will also be in attendance and will be honored with a signed gicleé print of Eric Dowdle’s Texas Longhorns Stadium painting.

Eric Dowdle is a world-renowned, Utah-based folk art painter who has captivated people of all ages with the wit, charm and detail in which he portrays a scene.  A very industrious and prolific painter, he has a portfolio of more than 250 paintings, most of which have been turned into puzzles and marketed worldwide. Over the last few years he has added a collection of licensed collegiate football titles, which is ever expanding.

Zions Bank is a long-time supporter of the community and BYU Athletics. The institution’s guiding principles state, “Our goal is to create value—value for our clients; value for the communities we serve; value for our employees; and, preeminently, value for our shareholders.” As a long-standing institution in the State of Utah and surrounding areas, Zions Bank has proven time and time again how deeply it values the local communities it serves through donations, community support and active involvement in worthy causes.

Eric’s original BYU Stadium is an acrylic 4x5-foot painting valued at $30,000, of which Zions Bank and Dowdle Folk Art are jointly sharing the cost.
