PROVO, Utah - Kicking off its second week of spring practice, the BYU football team moved outside under the sun with another fast-tempo session on Monday.

"We were better today than we were last week," offensive coordinator Robert Anae. "The week is off to a good start."

The team sported shoulder pads for the second time this spring while players conditioned with pursuit drills and spent time in position drills.

The defense dominated in the 11-on-11 team session, holding the offense without a touchdown on multiple series. In his first day back with the football team after playing for the BYU men's basketball team, Bronson Kaufusi recorded a sack along with Alani Fua. Austen Jorgensen added a tackle for loss.

The offense was able to move the ball though with running back Jamaal Williams breaking away for an 18-yard run around the outside while receiver Skyler Ridley pulled down a 10-yarder from quarterback Taysom Hill that Hill floated over the defensive pressure.

BYU continues week two of spring practice on Wednesday and Friday.
