1968 College World Series
Errors plagued BYU in losing to Southern California, the eventual NCAA champion, by a score of 5-3. USC scored four runs in the bottom of the seventh to break a 1-1 tie. Larry Romney, who led the NCAA with 13 home runs in 1968, hit a two-run homer in the top of the eighth for the Cougars against the Trojans before a crowd of 8,990.
