Right-handed pitcher Drew Dennis is transferring to join BYU’s baseball team this season.

Dennis, 6-foot-3 and 205 lbs., will be a junior after completing seasons before and after his mission to Colorado Springs, Colo.  At Sierra College in California last season he had a 4.66 earned run average and in 2009 he had a 1-0 record with two saves and a 2.10 ERA.

At Roseville High School in Roseville, Calif., he had a 7-3 record with a 2.01 ERA after a 4-0 start his senior season.  At Roseville he was first team All-San Joaquin Conference.  This summer Dennis played American Legion ball and for the Sacramento Scortch.

“Drew is an experienced pitcher from a very good junior college conference,” BYU coach Mike Littlewood said. “We look for Drew to bring leadership and stability to an already strong pitching staff.”
