Braithwaite Signs With Cougars
Collin Braithwaite, a 6-foot-2, 200-pound, catcher/outfielder from Gilbert, Ariz., has signed a letter of intent with BYU baseball.
Braithwaite is a senior at Perry High School where he was selected to the All-Chandler District Baseball Team and was second-team All-Section Three.
This season he batted .416, hit seven home runs, 13 doubles, four triples, with an .888 slugging percentage and .966 fielding percentage.
“I am excited to announce that Collin will join our baseball program next year,” BYU coach Vance Law said. “He is an outstanding catcher and hitter and a tremendous young man. He has had a great senior season and is just beginning to tap into his potential.”
Braithwaite was recruited by Portland, San Francisco and Columbia University. He played on the Arizona Diamondbacks Scout team last summer, was on the Academic All-Star team last fall in the Senior Classic at Peoria, Ariz., and made the Arizona Fall Scout League All-Star Team.
