Utah Game Start of Pitching Shakeup
A shakeup in BYU’s pitching rotation emerges in Tuesday’s Deseret Duel with Utah at Spring Mobile Ballpark at 6 p.m.
Freshman Cameron Keysor (0-0, 12.27) gets his first start of the season on the mound for the Cougars (11-11 overall and 4-2 in the West Coast Conference). Utah (7-19, 3-6 in the Pac-12) will pitch Ben Mordini (0-3, 13.06), who started in last week’s 9-8 loss to BYU.
BYU could win the baseball portion of the Deseret Duel with a victory on Tuesday. The third game of the BYU-Utah series will be on April 17 at Miller Park in Provo.
After the Utah game, the Cougars return to league play against Loyola Marymount and will keep the original two starters, Chris Capper (1-4, 3.10) and Mark Anderson (4-1, 3.48), for Thursday and Friday’s games, respectively at 6 p.m. However, on Saturday sophomore Desmond Poulson (0-2, 4.44) has been named the starter against the Lions at noon, at Miller Park.
All of the BYU games this week will be broadcast live on 960 AM, with BYU Radio carrying Tuesday and Thursday’s games on the Internet. BYUtv will televise Thursday and Friday night’s BYU-LMU games live.
