Quintet Named MWC Scholar-Athletes
Five BYU baseball players were named Scholar-Athletes by the Mountain West Conference.
Freshman infielder Matt Crowder (3.77 mechanical engineering), junior catcher Wes Guenther (3.84 exercise science), senior outfielder Alex Hancock (3.52 finance), junior pitcher David Parry (3.82 accounting) and freshman pitcher Daniel Sechrest (3.63 economics) were selected to the league honor.
Guenther and Parry are repeat selections to this honor. They joined Crowder and Sechrest as Academic All-MWC honorees as announced Monday by the league.
"I am proud of the way these players perform on and off the field with as much time as we spend on the road during a long season," said BYU coach Vance Law.
