Texas Tech Tournament
Host Texas Tech is 4-0, Northern Illinois is 0-2 and BYU’s baseball team is in between at 1-2 going into this week’s Brooks Wallace Classic at Lubbock, Texas.
“We are hoping to see changes in some of our performances,” said BYU coach Vance Law. “Our staff pitched well enough last week, but we need better offensive approaches to utilize our talents.”

Friday’s doubleheader begins at noon with Taylor Cole (1-0, 0.00) on the mound against Northern Illinois, followed by Matthew Neil (0-0, 0.00) in the nightcap rematch against Texas Tech. Saturday’s starter vs. Northern Illinois will be southpaw Mark Anderson (0-0, 1.29).
For the second week in a row BYU will be on artificial turf. The Cougars practiced indoors on Monday and outdoors Tuesday before leaving for Texas.
Austin Hall and Alex Wolfe lead the team with current 15-game hitting streaks. Andrew Law has a current eight-game hitting streak.
