McNaughton Named All-MWC Tournament
Senior Sean McNaughton was the only BYU baseball player named to Mountain West Conference All-Tournament Team last week in San Diego.
The Second Team All-MWC selection hit two grand slams in the MWC Tourney game against Utah to helped BYU tie an NCAA record of three grand slams in one game with eight other teams.
His eight RBI from that game added to the 23 BYU RBI in the game for a new MWC Tourney record. The eight runs he helped score in that game led to two teams combining for an MWC Tourney record of 43 runs. His eight RBI in that Utah game tied MWC Tourney record.
McNaughton's 54 homers and 556 career at bats are new MWC records. He set the BYU record for career at bats (920 and strikeouts (178) and finished second in BYU career hits (301), doubles (67) and fourth in career home runs (54).
