USF, San Jose St. On Tap
A third of four California trips is on tap this week as BYU's baseball team plays at San Francisco, followed by a three-game series at San Jose State.
The Cougars, now 10-12, are inching towards the .500 mark for the first time this season. On Wednesday, junior Shawn Hardesty (1-2, 7.82) is scheduled to pitch for BYU against the USF Dons.
Freshman Chris Capper (1-0, 3.43), sophomore Matthew Neil (3-2, 4.91) and freshman Chunner Nyberg (0-2, 10.03) are BYU's probable pitchers in the series starting Thursday at San Jose State.
"We are looking forward to improving as we play more games," said BYU coach Vance Law.
BYU senior outfielder Sean McNaughton is among the nation's leaders with a current 15-game hitting streak.
