TCU Series Decides A Lot
A three-game series at Miller Park could vault TCU into first-place contention or elevate BYU's standing in the baseball race in the Mountain West Conference.
TCU brings an 8-4 MWC record against BYU's 5-4 mark into the series that starts on Thursday. The Horned Frogs, 23-13 overall, are one game out of first place, while the Cougars, 15-21 overall, are two-and-a-half games out of first.
Thursday and Friday's games start at 7 p.m., with righthanders Jordan Muir (2-3, 4.96) of BYU facing Tyler Lockwood (3-0, 1.50) to start the action. Friday's game features BYU lefty Jake Wortham (2-2, 7.11) vs. Sean Hoelscher (3-2, 3.13).
Saturday's game will be televised live on BYUTV and KBYU at 1 p.m., with BYU's Blake Torgerson (4-2, 6.62) facing Greg Holle (1-2, 4.20). Jay Monsen and Gary Shiede call the action for the TV game which will be rebroadcast on Sunday on The Mtn. Sports Network at 1 p.m.
Thursday's game also marks the beginning of BYU's baseball games being aired for the first time this season over a live audio stream on BYU Radio which will carry the play-by-play feed of Brent Norton from KSRR 1400 AM.
Among the promotions for the BYU-TCU series is Friday's Pack-the-Park Night with $1 admission for those who wear blue.
