Upcoming Schedule Changes

Continued snow forced the BYU-Air Force Academy baseball game on Saturday to also be postponed, while Friday's game has now been cancelled.

The Cougars, now 30-18, are now scheduled to play at AFA on Monday in a doubleheader, weather-permitting, beginning at 11 a.m. Neither game will be broadcast on radio in Utah or on the Internet.

Consequently, the Monday exhibition games scheduled between BYU and Salt Lake Community College and Utah Valley State College at Miller Park have been canceled.

Pitcher Nate Fernley, 12-2, is scheduled to pitch in Saturday's game at 11 a.m., which will be broadcast live locally on KSRR Radio (1400 AM). Fernley is one of four Cougars ranked in the latest NCAA statistics. Fernley is tied for the most wins by an NCAA pitcher this season.

BYU's Matt Carson is ranked 20th in the NCAA home run category and has hit 17 homers this season. He is also ranked 19th for runs batted in with a 1.28 average. Teammates Doug Jackson and Cameron Coughlan are ranked fifth and 18th, respectively in NCAA triples.

BYU currently has a 17-7 record in the Mountain West Conference for a two-game, first-place lead over San Diego State, 16-10. SDSU beat Utah on Thursday, 9-7, but lost 13-3 to the Utes on Friday in Salt Lake City.

The Cougars host their final baseball games on May 10-12 against UNLV. However, Friday's game time with the Rebels has been changed to 7 p.m., because of a fireworks show in conjunction with the game.
