PROVO, Utah — After sweeping Pacific in a three-game WCC series over the weekend, BYU baseball is back in action versus rival Utah on Tuesday, May 17 at 6 p.m. MDT at Miller Park.

BROADCAST PLANS. The game will be broadcast live on the BYUtv app, while the audio broadcast can be heard on the BYU Sports Network—107.9 FM, BYU Radio app, BYUCougars.com or BYU Cougars app.

RIVALRY SERIES HISTORY. The Cougars and Utes have previously met 374 times in baseball since 1948 (first year of complete records), with BYU holding a 248-125-1 (.667) series advantage. The first recorded intercollegiate athletic event at BYU was a baseball game between then Brigham Young Academy and the University of Utah in spring 1895. The game ended in a 3-3 tie when a controversial call started a bench-clearing brawl.

The series is even at 15-15 in the 30-games played since 2012 when the two universities joined different conferences. Home field has proven to be a slight advantage as BYU is currently 8-5 (.615) at Miller Park and Utah is 10-7 (.563) in Salt Lake City.

UTAH REVIEW. The Utes enter the midweek game with an overall record of 25-24-1 and 10-17 in Pac-12 play. Utah is 1-9 over its last 10 games and was swept by No. 8 ranked Stanford in Salt Lake City last weekend. Utah’s last win was a 2-1 victory over No. 2 ranked Oregon State on April 29.

COUGAR RECAP. BYU is 31-18 on the year and 14-10 in WCC action. The Cougars have won nine-straight games dating back to April 30. The streak includes back-to-back conference sweeps over Pacific and Pepperdine, as well as non-conference wins over Cal State Fullerton and Dixie State.

WEEKEND SERIES. Following the Tuesday night game with Utah, BYU will host LMU in a three-game WCC series at Miller Park, May 19-21. The Thursday and Friday contests are set for 6 p.m., with the Saturday game scheduled for 1 p.m.
