Cougars host Tigers in three-game WCC baseball series

PROVO, Utah — Following a thrilling 3-2 come-from-behind victory over Dixie State on Tuesday night, BYU baseball turns its attention to a three-game West Coast Conference series with Pacific at Miller Park, May 12-14. 

BROADCAST INFO. The Thursday game is being broadcast on ESPNU with an 8 p.m. MDT start. The Friday game is scheduled for 6 p.m. and will be broadcast on the BYUtv app, with the Saturday game set for 1 p.m. on BYUtv. The BYU Radio Network will broadcast all three games on 107.9 FM, BYU Radio App, BYUCougars.com and the BYU Cougars app. Live stats are available through statbroadcast.com.

SERIES HISTORY. Tuesday’s contest will be the 31st meeting between BYU and Pacific. The Cougars lead the series 17-13 and are 14-7 in conference play.

TIGER REVIEW. Pacific enters the weekend series with a 14-31 overall record and is 5-16 in WCC play. The Tigers are coming off three-straight losses to San Diego (4-9, 6-9, 5-12), but swept Saint Mary’s the week before (8-7, 7-2, 7-6). Pacific is 3-7 in their last 10 games. 

COUGAR RECAP. BYU is 28-18 on the year and 11-10 in WCC action. The Cougars are 7-3 in their last 10 games, including a 3-2 win over Dixie State on Tuesday and 3-0 series sweep at Pepperdine (4-2, 6-3, 4-2) over the weekend. BYU entered the series tied with the Waves for seventh place in the WCC. The sweep moved the Cougars up two spots to fifth place with just six regular-season conference games remaining. The top six teams advance to the WCC baseball tournament May 25-28 at Banner Island Ballpark in Stockton, California.
