Baseball welcomes WSU to Provo Tuesday
PROVO, Utah — BYU baseball is at home Tuesday for a midweek game with Washington State of the Pac-12, before heading to Moraga, California for a West Coast Conference series with St. Mary’s. The weekend series with the Gaels is scheduled for March 31- April 2 at Louis Guisto Field.
The first pitch for the WSU game is scheduled for 1 p.m. MDT. The game will be streamed live on the BYUtv App and broadcast on the BYU Radio Network on FM 107.9, BYUCougars.com and the BYU Cougars app. Live stats are available through Statbroadcast.com.
BYU enters Tuesday’s game with a record of 12-9 and 2-4 in WCC play. The Cougars knocked off Utah Valley, 10-3, last Tuesday, and then defeated No. 19 ranked Gonzaga 11-2 on Thursday to open the three-game series with the WCC leading Zags.
WSU arrives in Provo at 9-14 on the year and 1-8 in the Pac-12. WSU dropped a midweek game at Santa Clara of the WCC last week and three-straight at No. 18 ranked Stanford.
BYU and WSU have met 43 times in baseball with WSU holding a 25-18 all-time series advantage. The two universities have met 14 times in Provo, with the record tied at 7-7. Tuesday will be the first meeting at Miller Park since a 3-2 BYU win in 2010. BYU won the first game between the two schools 8-6 on April 5, 1971 in Provo, as well as the last meeting 3-0 on April 8, 2014 in Pasco, Wash.
