Cougars head to Nebraska for three games with Omaha

PROVO, Utah — BYU baseball will travel to the home of the College World Series for three non-conference games with the University of Nebraska at Omaha on April 15-17 at newly opened Tal Anderson Field.

First pitch for the Thursday and Friday games is set for 6 p.m., while game three is scheduled for Saturday at 12 p.m.

BROADCAST PLANS. Thursday and Saturday’s games will be broadcast online via Mavs All-Access, with the Friday contest being aired live on NET Sports. Larry Punteney will have the call with Jeff Leise providing color commentary. Links to live stats are available on OMavs.com.

The BYU Sports Network—BYU Radio FM 107.9, BYUCougars.com and the BYU Cougars app—will also have the game live with Jason Shepherd and Tuckett Slade on the call. 

COUGARS-MAVERICKS HISTORY.  BYU and Omaha have met just four times in baseball, with the Cougars leading the all-time series 4-0. BYU claimed a 6-4 victory over the Mavericks in the last meeting on March 10, 2018 in Provo. The three previous games were played on March 9, 2018 (13-3) and March 8, 2018 (8-1) at BYU and March 12, 2012 (19-9) in Omaha.

SEASON RECORDS. The Mavericks are 12-16 (7-5 Summit League) and 7-8 at home. BYU enters the series with an 11-17 record (6-6 WCC) and 7-13 on the road. The Cougars are coming off a 7-4 victory over rival Utah on Tuesday night at Miller Park in Provo.
