BYU drops game three to Texas
AUSTIN, Texas — BYU baseball fell behind early and never recovered, losing 11-1 to No. 19 ranked Texas on Friday at UFCU Disch-Falk Field.
The Longhorns jumped out to an early 7-0 lead behind some clutch two-out hitting in both the bottom of first and second innings. The early lead gave Texas righthander Ty Madden all the runs he needed as the redshirt sophomore surrendered just one hit over seven innings for the win.
BYU scratched out a run in the ninth inning when Andrew Pintar doubled into the left center gap to start the inning. Mitch McIntyre grounded out to the right-side to move Pintar to third, where he later scored on wild pitch for a late run.
