Three Honored for Academics by WCC
SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Bryan Call, Danny Gelalich and Jaren Hall were named Academic All-West Coast honorable mention on Wednesday.
Call, a sophomore majoring in exercise and wellness, played in 14 games in the shortened 2020 season, totaling five hits, seven walks, two runs and three RBI.
A psychology major, Gelalich played in 13 games as a junior in 2020 with eight starts in the outfield, totaling three hits, three runs, two RBI, a double and three walks. He hit a sac fly in the eighth inning to score the game-winning run in a win against Cal Poly. A day later, he roped a double in the 14th inning in another victory over Cal Poly to again bring in the game-winning run.
In his second season with the Cougars, Hall played in five games in 2020 with three starts, totaling six hits, six RBI, five runs, two walks, a double and a grand slam. In game two of a doubleheader against New Mexico the exercise science major went 3-for-5 with two walks, hitting a grand slam while racking up four runs and five RBI.
