PROVO – After two weeks of group work, BYU baseball will begin team practices Monday, Sept. 16, and wrap up the last week of October, including a home-and-home series against Utah.

The Cougars and Utes will play in Salt Lake City on Oct. 5 before facing off in Provo on Oct. 25. Admission is free.

During fall ball the team is allowed 28 team practices and two official fall games. Team practices typically go from 1:15 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. All fall practices are at Miller Field are open to the public.

The team will also participate in team building activities such as a Moab river run, paintball and a flag football tournament.

"The fall season is so important for many reasons, but maybe the most important is building a team-first, 'all in' culture and mentality," BYU head coach Mike Littlewood said. "We spend a lot of time together, so it's important the guys feel and act like family. This fall will present a little different dynamic as we are adding some exciting transfers to our existing roster along with one of the best crop of freshmen we’ve had.

"We're looking forward to playing Utah twice as well. It will be fun to see how our new guys compete and it will be good for our returners to play someone other than ourselves."
