WCC Honors All-Academic Awardees
SAN BRUNO, Calif. - Senior Jordan Wood and sophomore Jackson Cluff were named to the West Coast Conference All-Academic Team with five other BYU baseball student-athletes given honorable mention, the conference announced Wednesday.
Wood is a two-time honoree after earning All-Academic honors last season. A starting pitcher for the Cougars, Wood is an exercise science major with a 3.61 GPA.
In his first year of eligibility, Cluff was named to the team after posting a 3.85 GPA in pre-business. The infielder is also a CoSIDA Academic All-District and All-WCC First Team honoree this year.
Senior pitcher Bo Burrup, sophomore outfielder Danny Gelalich, senior outfielder Brock Hale, senior pitcher Blake Inouye and sophomore pitcher Justin Sterner were also named honorable mention for their efforts.
At the conclusion of each athletic season, the WCC selects an all-academic squad for each WCC-sponsored sport. To be considered, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average, be at least sophomore standing, and compete in at least half of his team's games.
