BYU falls to San Francisco, 9-1

PROVO, Utah – No. 25 BYU baseball fell to San Francisco 9-1 in game two of the series on Friday at Larry H. Miller Field.

"Great job by them, bad job by us," BYU head coach Mike Littlewood said. "We just need to come back tomorrow like they did today."

The Cougars (32-14, 16-7) earned their first run of the game in the first inning when, with the bases loaded, Ryan Sepede hit a sacrifice fly to the center field wall, allowing Noah Hill to score.

Following two scoreless innings, the Dons secured three hits and four runs in the fourth to took a 4-1 lead.

In the top of the fifth inning, BYU pitcher Jarod Lessar came on in relief for Easton Walker. Lessar went on to pitch the next four innings, getting a career high seven strikeouts.

The Dons extended their lead In the fifth by two more runs after Kyle Knell hit a single up the middle. The Dons added three more in the ninth for the final runs of the game.
