PROVO, Utah - No. 25 BYU baseball returns to Miller Field for the first time in almost a month to host San Francisco in the Cougars' final home games of the season starting May 9.

BYU vs. San Francisco Game Notes

Nine seniors will be honored Saturday before the game: Bo Burrup, Riley Gates, Brock Hale, Noah Hill, Brian Hsu, Blake Inouye, Casey Jacobsen, Keaton Kringlen and Jordan Wood.

BYU comes into the weekend at 31-13, including 15-6 in the West Coast Conference, the top mark in the league. With three games apiece against San Francisco and next week against Santa Clara, the Cougars are in the driver's seat over second place Gonzaga. BYU can lose one of their last six conference games and still clinch the regular season title and the No. 1 seed in the WCC Tournament regardless of what Gonzaga does in its final WCC series at LMU next week. Any more losses and the Cougars will have to hope the Bulldogs also lose the same number of games in order to secure the No. 1 seed as Gonzaga holds the tiebreaker between the two teams.

The Cougars have taken the last four series against San Francisco dating back to 2015, going 10-2 in that time. BYU took two of three last season before the Dons finally snapped a seven-game BYU win streak with a 6-2 win in the third game of the series.

BYU has lost just once at home to San Francisco, a 10-1 defeat in May 2013. Since then, the Cougars have eight straight against the Dons at Miller Park and will look to continue the streak this weekend. During the home win streak, BYU has outscored the Dons 9.6 to 5.0. Overall, BYU has scored eight or more runs seven of its last eight games against San Francisco.

BYU is ranked 25th in the latest Baseball America poll for the second-straight week. The Cougars are also ranked 24th by Perfect Game and have a 32 RPI.
